Step 1: Choose Your Connection Mode

Tracktuned Link supports two distinct connection architectures depending on where you are tuning:

Standalone Mode Default

Direct AP Hotspot

The Link creates its own dedicated WiFi network (Tracktuned Link). Ideal for dyno cells, pit lanes, and track days where no local internet exists.

Join Local WiFi Network

The Link joins your home/shop WiFi. You tune wirelessly while your laptop keeps 100% normal internet access. Automatic zero-brick failsafe if out of range.

Step 2: Quick Start Steps

01

Power & Connect Hardware

Connect 5V power to the Micro USB port (from ECU 5V sensor power, 12V-to-5V regulator, or USB power bank). Connect your ECU/TCU USB cable to the USB-A host port. The green LED lights up and WiFi boots in ~40 seconds.

02

Install Tracktuned Link Desktop App (Windows)

Download and run Tracktuned-Link-Setup.exe. The installer bundles all required signed USB/IP and FTDI virtual COM port drivers.

03

Connect & Attach Device

Connect your laptop to the Tracktuned Link WiFi network (or your home network if configured). Open the desktop app: your ECU appears in the device list. Click Use to attach. A COM port appears instantly in Device Manager.

04

Launch Your Tuning Software

Open Haltech NSP, PCLink, MTune, MoTeC, or TunerPro. Your software connects to the virtual COM port as if the USB cable were plugged directly into your laptop!

Pro-tip for auto-attaching: Right-click your ECU in the desktop app and select Auto-connect. The moment you power on the ignition and your laptop joins the network, the app attaches the ECU automatically in the background.
