Optimizing FTDI Latency Timers in Windows

For high-baud systems (e.g. MaxxECU on 921,600 baud or TurboLamik on 115,200 baud), setting the FTDI virtual COM latency timer to 1ms delivers maximum datalogging refresh rates:

  1. Attach your ECU in the Tracktuned Link desktop app.
  2. Open Windows Device Manager (devmgmt.msc).
  3. Expand Ports (COM & LPT) and double-click your FTDI device.
  4. Navigate to Port Settings → Advanced.
  5. Change Latency Timer (msec) from 16 to 1.
  6. Click OK. Windows saves this preference for all future sessions.
