Windows 10 / 11
Download Tracktuned Link

Drivers are bundled in. Just run it and you're sorted.
macOS and Linux coming soon.

Get connected.

  1. Power it up

Wire the included 12V to 5V converter to switched ignition, or just use a cig lighter USB adapter with a Micro USB cable. LED comes on, boots in about 5 seconds.

  2. Plug in your ECU or TCU

Your normal USB cable goes into the USB-A port on the Tracktuned Link.

  3. Install the app

Hit the download button above, run the installer. Drivers are included, it handles everything. Do this while you're still on your normal internet.

  4. Join the WiFi

On your laptop, connect to the Tracktuned Link network. Password is tracktuned (see credentials above).

  5. Grab the device

Open the app. Your ECU/TCU shows up in the list. Click Use and a COM port pops up in Device Manager.

  6. Tune

Fire up NSP, PCLink, AEMTuner, MaxxTune, whatever you use. It connects like the cable is plugged straight into your laptop. Bloody hell, that was easy.

Auto-connect tip: Right-click your device in the app and enable Auto-connect. From then on it grabs the device the moment you join the WiFi. Set it and forget it.

Two connections. That's it.

  1. Mount the device

Stick it near your ECU/TCU. It's 58×58mm so it fits pretty much anywhere. Velcro, cable ties, double sided tape, whatever works. Just keep it within USB cable reach.

  2. Wire power

The included 12V to 5V converter goes to switched ignition power so the device turns on and off with the key.

RedSwitched 12V (ignition on). Fuse box piggyback, ECU relay board, or any ignition switched circuit.
    BlackGround or chassis.
OutputMicro USB plug into the Tracktuned Link power port.
  3. Plug in USB

ECU/TCU USB cable into the Tracktuned Link USB-A port. Done.

Power draw: ~200mA (1W). Wire it to switched 12V, not permanent. Won't flatten a battery overnight but no point leaving it on.

Every tuning session.

  1. Turn the key

Tracktuned Link boots in 5 seconds and WiFi comes up automatically.

  2. Open the app

Laptop connects to the WiFi, app finds your devices and auto-attaches if you've set that up.

  3. Tune

Open your tuning software. ECU connected, no cables. Maps, live data, firmware uploads, the lot.

Startup tip: Want the app to launch with Windows? Press Win+R, type shell:startup, and drop a shortcut to the app in that folder. One less thing to think about.

Manage your device.

Buttons and switches.

Toggle Switch

Flips WiFi on and off. Handy if you want to kill the wireless quickly.

Reset Button (hold 3+ seconds)

Resets WiFi back to the defaults above (name, password, channel). Doesn't touch firmware or anything else.

Something not right?

WiFi network doesn't show up

Check the power, LED should be on. Give it 5-10 seconds after powering up. Make sure the toggle switch is flipped on. If you're still stuck, hold the reset button 10+ seconds to restore WiFi defaults.

App can't find any devices

Make sure your laptop is actually on the Tracktuned Link WiFi. Your IP should be 192.168.8.something. Double check the USB cable is plugged into the device. Try pulling it out and plugging it back in.

Device shows in app but tuning software won't connect

Check you've actually hit Use on the device in the app. Look in Device Manager for a new COM port. No COM port showing? Reinstall the app, drivers get reinstalled with it. Also check your tuning software is pointed at the right COM port number.

WiFi keeps dropping

Go to the web panel at 192.168.8.1 and change the WiFi channel to 1, 6, or 11. Don't leave it on Auto. Busy environments like paddocks and car shows can cause interference. Moving the laptop closer helps too.

Getting "communication error" in tuning software

Usually WiFi interference. Change the channel in the web panel. Get closer to the device. The app automatically tries to hold onto the WiFi connection and reconnect if it drops briefly.

Laptop loses internet while connected

Shouldn't happen. Tracktuned Link doesn't advertise itself as a gateway so your laptop keeps using its own internet (mobile hotspot, ethernet, whatever). If it does happen, check your Windows network priority settings.
Compatibility note: Tracktuned Link works with any ECU or TCU that connects over USB serial (FTDI, CP210x, CH340). Proprietary dongle-based tools like HP Tuners or EcuTek are not supported.
